Parks Maintenance worker II
The Town of Grand Island is seeking to hire a Parks Maintenance worker II on a Full Time Conditional Basis. This Parks Maintenance Worker II position involves performing routine manual and related work as required.
Minimum Qualification:
A. Ability to follow instructions, the job requires physical endurance and good physical condition, willingness to perform manual tasks, willingness to work under all weather conditions.
B. Assists in the care, maintenance and protection of Town Parks and its recreational facilities; athletic fields and equipment.
C. Operates a truck or other motorized units, for the purpose of; snow removal, grass cutting, grading, and landscaping.
D. Performs semi-skilled tasks in parks maintenance and construction operations such as equipment mechanics, carpentry, plumbing or electrical work.
E. Preferred 3 years related work experience
Salary Range - expected starting rate $17.40 – salary and benefits as per the Teamsters union contract
Erie County residency required

Part Time Recreation Attendant
The Town of Grand Island Recreation Department is looking for a Part Time Recreation Attendant, to work as a Kitchen Assistant at The Golden Age Center. Applicants must enjoying working with the senior population, and will have the pleasure of working in a family-oriented atmosphere. The selected applicant will assist in meal preparation, stocking kitchen supplies (must be able to lift 20 pounds or more), serving meals to disabled and/or immobile patrons, and post-meal clean up, among other tasks. Flexibility is a must for the selected applicant, as our days are fast-paced, and this person will be required to wear many hats. Kitchen, restaurant, and/or cafeteria experience is preferred.
