LEGAL NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to a Resolution
of the Town Board of the Town of Grand Island, Erie County, New York, sealed
Proposals will be received and considered by the Town Board on August 31, 2005
at 10:00 A.M. Local Time at the Town Hall for furnishing all materials and
equipment together with all labor for the Golden Age Center Roof Replacement in
the Town of Grand Island, New York.
The Proposals will be received in accordance with
the Plans and Specifications prepared by the Town Engineering Department all of
which are on file with the Town Clerk at her office in the Town Hall, Grand
Island, New York, where same may be examined during the usual business hours.
Copies of said Drawing and Specifications may be
obtained for the sum of a $25.00 deposit at the office of the Town Clerk, Town
of Grand Island, 2255 Baseline Road, Grand Island, New York 14072 on or after
August 19, 2005 between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. The
deposit for each set will be refunded upon return of the Contract Documents in
good condition within seven (7) days
following the opening of Bids.
The Town of Grand Island reserves the right to
reject any and all Bids, or waive any informalities, or to make an award to the
lowest responsible Bidder.
Pre-bid meeting to be held on August 29, 2005 at
10am at the Golden Age Center, 3278 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, New York.
Each Proposal must be accompanied by cash, Certified
Check payable to the Town of Grand Island, or Bid Bond having a surety thereon from
a surety company acceptable to the Town Attorney, in an amount not less than
five percent (5%) of the amount of the Base Bid, conditioned that if the
Proposal is accepted, the Contractor will enter into a Contract for the same,
for the faithful performance of the Contract.
No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within forty-five
days after the date set for the opening thereof, but may withdraw same at any
time prior to the scheduled time for the opening of Bids.
This contract will be funded wholly or partially with federal funds, and as such, is subject to all federal rules and regulations pertinent thereto, including, but not limited to, federal policy of encouraging the participation of minority and women business enterprises as sources of suppliers, equipment, construction and services.
Each Bid Proposal must be submitted in the complete
bound Specification Booklet Form with Bid Bond attached, enclosed in a sealed
envelope addressed to the Town of Grand Island. On the outside of the envelope, clearly label “Job No. M-178,
Golden Age Center Roof Replacement” and indicate name, and address of
Bidder. Proposals not meeting the above
format will be unacceptable.
