LEGAL NOTICE

 

 

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to a Resolution of the Town Board of the Town of Grand Island, Erie County, New York, sealed Proposals will be received, and considered by the Town Board on June 9, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. Local Time at the Town Hall for the Grand Island Safe Routes to School Project, Town of Grand Island, New York.

 

The Proposals will be received in accordance with the Plans and Specifications prepared by the New York State Department of Transportation all of which are on file with the Town Clerk at her office in the Town Hall, Grand Island, New York, where same maybe examined during the usual business hours.

 

Copies of said Drawings & Specifications may be obtained for the sum of a $25.00 deposit at the office of the Town Clerk, Town of Grand Island, 2255 Baseline Road, Grand Island, New York, 14072, on or after May 14, 2010 between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.  The deposit for each set will be refunded upon return of the Contract Documents in good condition within seven (7) days following the opening of Bids.

 

The Town of Grand Island reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, waive any informalities, or to make an award to the lowest responsible Bidder. Each Proposal must be accompanied by cash, Certified Check, payable to the Town of Grand Island, or Bid Bond, having as surety thereon, a surety company acceptable to the Town Attorney, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Base Bid, conditioned that, if his Proposal is accepted, he will enter into a Contract for the same, for the faithful performance of the Contract.

 

No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within forty-five days after the date set for the opening thereof, but may withdraw same at any time prior to the scheduled time for the opening of Bids.

 

This is a Federally-aided contract subject to the approval of the New York State Department of Transportation (NYDOT).  Whenever Municipal contract terms and requirements differ from Federal requirements, the Federal requirements will prevail.

 

Each Bid Proposal must be submitted in the complete bound Specification Booklet Form with Bid Bond attached, enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the Town of Grand Island.  On the outside of the envelope clearly label "Job No. M-193 – Grand Island Safe Routes to School Project” and indicate name and address of Bidder.  Proposals not meeting the above format will be unacceptable.
