Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Rd., Grand Island, NY at 8:00p.m. on the 5th
of May, 2008.

Award
Bid 2008 10 Salt Spreader Body
Highway Superintendent Ray Dlugokinski reported that the bids
were opened on April 21, 2008 for a 2008 10 salt spreader body.
Three bids were received from the following:
Highway Equipment Co.
$17,855.00
Tracey Road Equipment
$14,958.00
Body King, Inc.
$15,165.00
After careful review of the bids, Mr. Dlugokinski recommended
the low bidder, Tracey Road Equipment be awarded the bid in the amount of
$14,958.00.

motion was made by Councilman Crawford, seconded by Councilwoman Cooke to
authorize the Highway Superintendent to award the bid for a 2008 10 salt
spreader body in the amount of $14,958.00.

careful review of the bid, Mr. Whitney recommended the Town purchase topsoil
from Bush Trucking & Landscaping at $11.95/yard and Van Dusen Concrete
Construction at $3.650/square foot for concrete repairs.
Water/Wastewater repair materials should be purchased from the
supplier with the lowest price for the desired item.

motion was made by Councilwoman Cooke, seconded by Councilwoman Argy to
accept the recommendation of the Town Engineer and purchase topsoil from
Busch Trucking & Landscaping at $11.95/yard and Van Dusen Concrete
Construction at $3.650/square foot for concrete repairs.
Water/Wastewater repair materials will be purchased from the supplier
with the lowest price for the desired item.

Change
Order No. 2 2007 Drainage Improvement Project Job No. D-36
Change Order #1 added replacement of Storm Sewer
for the outfall within the Morning side Subdivision.
The original quote was for replacement of 200 LF corrugated metal
pipe (CMP), we then had to extend the project an additional 140 LF to remove
all of the C.M.P.
Therefore, we are asking to add to the contract
with LDC Construction in the amount of $2,693.00 for additional work as
follows:
Install additional 140 LF of HDPE pipe
$2,293.00
Landscaping
`$ 400.00
This will result in a net increase of the contract
in the amount of $ 2,693.00

accept the Town Engineers recommendation and approve Change Order No. 2
2007 Drainage Improvement Project Job No. D-36 at a cost of
$2,693.00.

Summer Helpers Water and Wastewater Departments

motion was made by Councilman Roesch, seconded by Councilwoman Cooke to hire
Colin Gallagher effective May 6, 2008 at $8.25 per hour and Erik Billica
effective May 6, 2008 at $8.00 per hour as Seasonal Full Time Summer Help in
the Water Department and Tim Burns effective May 6, 2008 at $8.00 per hour
as Seasonal Full Time Summer Help in the Wastewater Department.

NYSDEC
General SPDES Permit for Stormwater Discharges Annual Report for Public
Comment
The
NYSDEC requires regulated small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems
(MS4s) to obtain coverage under a Small Pollutant Discharge Elimination
System (SPDES) for the discharge of storm water from Town owned storm sewer
systems.
As
part of the EPA requirements, the Annual Stormwater Report is on file in the
Town Clerks office and the Grand Island Memorial Library. Public comments on the Annual Report will be accepted until
May 28, 2008.
No
Town Board action is necessary.
RECREATION

the following Parks & Recreation employees:
Part-time
Seasonal employees 40 hours per week for 23 weeks effective May 6, 2008:
Kyle Clarke at $8.00 per hour General Maintenance
Kevin Buyer at $8.45 per hour Maintenance & Programs
Scott Buyer at $8.45 per hour Maintenance & Programs
Justin Dowd at $8.00 per hour - Maintenance & Programs
Correction:
Michael Cole hired April 7th
was incorrectly listed at $10.00 per hour, the correct pay rate should be
$10.30 per hour.

accept the recommendation of the Parks & Recreation Director and appoint

the Town Attorney.
